Leveraging industrial information to make better decisions, faster is the ultimate goal of Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, IIoT, and Advanced Analytics solutions. However, as industrial information networks expand to encompass more sensors, devices, and systems, the existing data infrastructure has become overloaded. Manufacturers and other industrial companies require an Industrial DataOps solution that can handle industrial data collection, transformation, and delivery at scale. Scalability is the name of the game.
Today, we’re announcing the release of HighByte Intelligence Hub version 1.1 to help our customers efficiently meet these data infrastructure requirements. HighByte Intelligence Hub version 1.1 is leading the Industrial DataOps solution category with a focus on scalability. The software provides a solution specifically designed for Operations Technology (OT) teams to prepare and curate information for IT, data scientists, and operational users.

Scalability

This release provides additional scalability improvements for working with more and larger source systems, sophisticated information models, and higher volumes of data points.

Designed for OT

This release addresses the nuances of industrial data systems, the reusability of industrial information models, and the complexity of delivering industrial information to a variety of systems with their own unique delivery needs. This capability is packaged into a solution that requires no coding and runs on the latest gateway hardware architectures configured through a browser—delivering fully standardized and contextualized information to consuming applications.

Key Features

HighByte Intelligence Hub version 1.1 offers the following new features:
  • Enhanced flows, now cyclic or condition based. Flows systems have different data needs and unique update rates. With the new enhancements in version 1.1, an information flow can execute based on a machine’s on/off state, send an alert to a system when a threshold is surpassed, or only send data when a certain value has changed.
  • Nested models and instances. Assets, processes, products, and systems are often complex and made up of reusable datasets. Version 1.1 allows users to easily create and maintain complex, reusable models, allowing for faster development and deployment of information to analytics, visualization, and other applications.
  • User Experience (UX) and scalability improvements. Devices, networks, and systems are all growing. Typical PLCs have thousands of data points and typical OPC servers have tens of PLCs. Browsing these servers, identifying tags as inputs and outputs, and then working with thousands of inputs is critical for production capable systems. In version 1.1, we’ve made significant UX/UI updates to improve scalability. Users can easily replicate existing models, instances, and flows to accelerate configuration and rollout, and improve information consistency and delivery. We’ve also added browser performance for large OPC servers, multi-select operations on Inputs/Outputs, in-line edit, and descriptions to annotate connections, models, and flows.
