Since releasing HighByte Intelligence Hub version 1.0 in January 2020, our customers have been successfully deploying solutions to simplify the integration of existing operational technology (OT) and new Industry 4.0 solutions that deliver rich information to IT, data scientists, and other stakeholders. Throughout the past year, we have focused on building out a connectivity library that enables users to connect to AWS IoT SiteWise, Azure IoT Hub and Event Hubs, REST, SQL, MQTT / Sparkplug, OPC UA, and CSV files, providing the market with the interoperability needed for Digital Transformation. In addition to connectivity, HighByte Intelligence Hub introduced a no-code approach to modeling assets, systems, processes, or systems of systems that are centrally managed and automatically transformed into a usable format for any one of our connectors. This has enabled customers to scale their plant to cloud initiatives in days and weeks, rather than months and years.
As customers have proven out success with HighByte Intelligence Hub, many have deployed multiple instances in a single location. With scalability and ease of maintenance in mind, we reimagined the user experience for interacting with multiple instances of the product. With the release of HighByte Intelligence Hub version 2.0 today, our customers can now designate a central hub that provides a single configuration interface into any or all running instances of the product. In addition to multi-hub management, we have also introduced advanced user management, audit events, and many other features to help organizations scale, maintain, and govern their industrial data. We are excited to get HighByte Intelligence Hub version 2.0 in your hands to experience and see the value for yourself.
New Features
HighByte Intelligence Hub 2.0 introduces the following new capabilities:
- Multi-Hub Management. Specify a central hub that all other hubs securely connect to. Login into the central hub to manage all hubs’ project configurations, users and roles, certificates, and view event information for diagnostic purposes. Simply compare and synchronize project configurations, including inbound / outbound connections and models, to ensure your HighByte Intelligence Hub architecture is up to date.
- Users, Roles and Certificates. Provide appropriate access to any number of users. Setup claims that allow read, create, update, and/or delete access to connections, models, instances, flows, networks, logs, users, and/or certificates. Claims can be assigned to a role that can be inherited by one or more users or assigned directly to a user. Users can now manage certificates directly in the configuration utility.
- Event Logs and Auditing. Event logs can now be viewed within the configuration utility. Users can filter event information based on type, source, or message content. In addition to general information, warning, and error message types, the ability to log audit events is now supported. Audit messages capture all user actions with a hub’s project configuration, as well as the before and after state, where applicable.
- Project Backups. When a project configuration change is made, the product can now be setup to automatically backup the existing configuration before applying the change. Users can specify how many backups to keep, along with how often to persist configuration changes to storage, allowing them to roll back to a previous configuration state when necessary.
- Amazon Kinesis Connectors. Amazon has created solutions to scale and reliably handle high-volume real-time industrial data streamed into the AWS Cloud. The product now supports Amazon Kinesis Data Streams and Amazon Kinesis Data Firehouse connectors that simplify and accelerate the publishing of industrial data to AWS.
- Dynamic Contextualization. Both REST and SQL based inputs can reference other connectors’ inputs as part of their queries. This allows users to build out models with varying levels of context based on the latest real-time operational data available
